How we see children

Every child is capable, curious and full of ideas. We give them time, real materials and people who listen.

How children learn here

Four ways into learning.

Hover or tap to open. Each one is part of an ordinary day at Peacocks.

  • A baby explores paint with hands and face

    One hundred languages

Paint, clay, wire, music, movement and talk. Children have many ways to say what they think, and we make room for all of them.

  • A boy in a rainbow beanie stands at the edge of the sandpit

    Māori heritage and biculturalism

Te reo Māori, tikanga and the stories of Aotearoa belong in every day, for every child.

  • Children explore loose wooden parts with an educator

    Loose materials, open-ended play

Fabric, timber, stones and shells. Things that can become anything, so the child decides what they are.

  • A toddler plays on the grass in the garden

Outdoors, and caring for the world

Time outside, and the habit of looking after the plants, animals and places around us.

Book a visit

Three steps to a look around.

  1. Tell us who’s coming

Your name, your child’s age and a day that suits. It takes a minute.

  2. We ring or email you

A real person gets back to you to fix a time.

  3. Visit and ask anything

See the rooms and the outdoor space, and meet the people who’ll know your child.
